It's 4:00 in the morning and I couldn't sleep and decided to tell
you about a family member of ours, Thomas. He's my daughter in laws
Brother and is 24 yrs old and has recently been told he has 4th
level melanoma and with 6 months to live.
He has always had mental problems ranging from OCD to being told
he's Bi Polar, been to Psychiatrist, has been on Government
assistance because he's unable to work.
We got him down here in Florida and took him immediately to our
Homeopathic Physician last year and what great changes he's made is
unbeliveable. This boy went from wearing winter clothes in dead of
summer to someone you could communicate with. A wonderful young
man. He's a Sulphur Constitutionally. Still has a hard time with
bathing. Takes him 8 hours to shave. Just months ago he was
washing his clothes, himself and his dishes in the bath tub! The
disease he has stripped off his personality is remarkable and you
can see that the remedy has touched him spiritually.
Day before yesterday he had brain surgery and was told the melanoma
is in his blood and he won't live.
As of last night, he's on a cancer remedy (don't know what yet) and
several Chinese Herbs. I believe Ellen his sister gave him Nux all
day long yesterday.
We love this young man very much because behind all the disease and
mental problems his personality always shinned thru. All he's ever
wanted was to be loved and it's been difficult due to his mental
problems for the family to handle.
Does anyone know of any success in treating someone with melanoma to
the point of being told they are going to die. By the way, we have
not told him because as you know our mental state has everything to
do with our health.
Sorry this is so long but I wanted to give you a background.
Any information or experiences would be helpful.

Dr. A. U. Ramakrishnan has successfully treated melanoma, Stage III. His book, "A Homeopathic Approach to Cancer," discusses some of his cases.

This is not a do-it-yourself technique: the patient needs supervision by a homeopath familiar with Ramakrishnan's methods as well as by an oncologist who can monitor his progress.

Unfortunately, it's not uncommon for someone with severe mental pathology to develop cancer or another terminal illness as their mental illness gets better. When the illness is concentrated on the mental sphere, they appear "healthy" physically, but they aren't; they're merely symptom-free on the physical level.

If your homeopath wants to treat Thomas, or if you want to contact Dr. Ramakrishnan directly, I can give you his e-mail address. But Dr. Ramakrishnan is expensive, and he won't be back to the U.S. until mid-September.

Good luck to you and to Thomas. It's rough to see that he's made so much progress, and now gets hit with this.

Also, there are certainly cases where even "terminal" cancer has been cured
by homeopathy, and also before Dr. Ramakrishnan's method. Colleen, if the
treating homeopath feels that he is within his "comfort zone" in treating
the present situation, then he may indeed have it in hand. (Tho it couldn't
hurt to ask whether he has treated many cancer patients, or whether he would
like to look into Dr. Ramakrishnan's method -- which he may already be
familiar with!).

Many years back at a conference Sheilagh Creasy talked about several cases
in which cancer developed either before the patient began treatment, or
during the course of treatment (and really one would not know which was the
case!), and where she simply followed her usual process of prescribing, and
the cancer left, leaving the patient well. There are too many variables to
make any predictions...

Sometimes homeopathy can indeed pull off "miracle cures", even at very late
stages; other times the best that can be done (apparently) is to give the
patient a period of a better life, and then a more graceful and timely
death.

I think it's important to be aware of some issues about cancer vs. severe
mental disease. Even tho one can kill you and the other can't, which is
really the more deadly?

risks, and sometimes, even, it really *is* the price of life, that one must
risk death. But it does sound as tho his homeopath has carried him well so

You might like to read Vithoulkas's book, "The Science of Homeopathy". It's
a textbook (tho not hard reading!), and so a little dry, but also full of
fascinating information, IMO. (It was one of the first homeopathy books I
read, and really hooked me, fascinated me!) He talks in great detail about
different levels of disease, and how disease at one level can move to /
express on different levels, during the course of cure (in which case it
moves to less severe levels) or worseining (in which case it moves to more
severe levels).

Much of his thinking on this seems common-sense (at least, after some
thought!), but certain conclusions might be less so. One of his more
thought-provoking conclusions (at least to me) was that, in certain
instances, a disease that will never kill you (e.g. a severe mental illness)
is actually less severe than one that *can* kill you (e.g. cancer).

As I recall, he doesn't describe how he reached that particular conclusion,
but he I do assume it is from observation of many people's course of cure,
not a priori theory! And after reading and thinking about it, from the
standpoint of many different writings and experiences, I did come to a
gut-level understanding of why that is true. (As will any other
practitioner, I would think.)

A severe mental illness is a prison, that prevents the person -- however
loving and beloved -- from truly having the good things of life. The mind
is our deepest level of "self", our most precious tool. If the body aches
and fails, yet the mind is strong and the spirit good, then life is still
rich and precious. But if the mind is shackled, clouded, at the mercy of
unknown things, then that "healthy" body is of little use. The mind isn't
free to chart its course, the spirit isn't free to learn its lessons, or
share them.

So, it sounds as tho this man's mind and spirit have found some freedom, but
now the level of the disease has shifted into the physical (direction of
cure), and is compromising the physical level nearly as dreadfully as it
previously had the mental -- except that he *has* this time of greater
happiness and freedom, and there is the *hope* (and it is a *reasonable*
hope, tho not a certainty!!!!) that he can pass thru this too, and have both
mental *and* physical health.

Sometimes the price of life truly is to risk death.
I would say, keep in close touch with the homeopath, get his/her honest
assessment of how *s/he* views the case, whether s/he feels clear about how
to proceed, and make sure it is a *partnership* between homeopath and family
(that is always important anyway!). If all that is in place, sit back,
pray, hope for the best, and cherish every bit of his journey, however short
*or long* it turns out to be.

This is in reference to Thomas's melanoma...
First of all thank you everyone for commenting and giving us great encouragement and help regarding this young man.
I wanted to ask tho if you could tell me why you think our Homeopath would be giving him Sulphur (which is his Constitutional) and alternating it with Lachesis. He did have the tumor in his brain and it was removed. I read it and don't see anything about it being a cancer remedy. Thanks
