quizzes and do not pay attention to mentals?<
Dear Feras and all,
If one believes that only mental features are
indicators of the remedies, he will miss so many
useful remedies in his prescriptions.
It is true that mental symptoms rank high in our
choice of symptoms but not all remedies have prominent
peculiar mental features. In these remedies, peculiar,
rare and strange symptoms of general and physical
sphere lead to our choice of remedy.
For example, Dioscorea villosa has some proved mental
features but mostly the quality of pains and their
peculiar feature of radiation, point to the remedy.
It is worth noting that sometimes peculiar physical
symptoms rank even higher than mentals. This depends
on the degree of peculiarity. For example, 'Asthmatic
respiration after injury of spine' ranks higher than a
common mental feature like 'Restlessness' in the
process of choosing the remedy.
J.T.Kent who is believed to be the father of
constitutional precribing (which later lead to the
development of pure mentalistic schools in
homoeopathy) uses so many of the physical peculiar
symptoms in his prescriptions. Study samples of Kent's
cases at:
http://www.homeoint.org/books3/kentclin/index.htm
I believe that FTRN quizzes are good tools for
improvement of knowledge of these peculiar features
esp in the remedies with little known or common mental
symptoms.
PECULIAR mental symptoms always have the highest rank
but not ANY mental symptoms.
Best,
Ardavan
