Dear Tanya
An immune system in a good state will protect the body by producing
antibodies to fight off the causative agent if that agent in some how
introduced into the body.
However if the person is healthy and not susceptible then why should they
present symptoms.
About 10% of the population has meningococcal in their throat, but not 10%
of the population is suffering from meningitis!
