If the Diabetes Patient is already undertaking Allopath medicines for a very long time, What is the procedure to convert to Homeo Medicines.

This is definitely an oversimplification of the ailments. Remember, homoeopathy believes in and deals with the "totality of symptoms."
If the diabetes is insulin-dependent, there is no use converting the patient to homoeopathic-treatment. If he is not, homoeopathic-medicines should get the patient a definite cure.

DIABETES and HOMOEOPATHY

If Diabetes Patient is already on allopathic treatment for very long time
,still he can be on homoeopathic treament but along with allopathic
medicines.Well, prescription should be on Totality of symptoms .But being
on Diabetic for long and on allopathic medicines for long ,Suceptibility
and Vital energy will be low . Patients Totality will be of mixture of drug
symptoms and his own symptoms.So finding real simillimum will also be
difficult.So emperical use of nosodes like Carcinosin or Tuberculinum at
longer intervals initially is required .Especially Insulin dependent DM
,few doses of Insulin in potency like 30 and 200 at longer interval is
required .It needs longer time of treatment.
By putting on Homoeopathic treatment ,We can avoid complication of DM,if
time is given we can bring them under only on homoeopathic treament also.
Especially Insulin dependent Juvenile DM ,it is always advantageous to be
on Homoeopathic treament.

My opinion, based on clinical experience, is:-
If the diabetes has not gone insulin-dependent, homoeopathic-medicines, based on totality of symptoms, should work and a cure can always be attained avoiding all the complications. But, if it has gone insulin-dependent, it is a sure test that the pancreas of the patient do not produce insulin any more in the required quantity and intake of insulin from outside becomes a must. No medicine shall then normally work.

Hi,

I have no experience treating diabetes, but I had been taught that insulin
will not cause any interference with the remedy, and will not mask symptoms,
as it is simply replacing an essential part of the body's functioning. I
was taught that you can simply prescribe on "the rest of the case", and that
even if there is no possibility of cure, you can often reduce the amount of
insulin needed--and therefore their blood sugar *must be frequently
monitored* so that if insulin need drops, the dosage does too! I was taught
that you can decidedly improve the patient's quality of life, and benefit
them in many other ways, even if you cannot remove insulin dependency.

Does this suit your experience?

I wasn't disputing that. I only meant that, in my understanding even *tho*
cure may be impossible for certain cases, treatment can still be very
fruitful in addressing *other* concerns -- energy, attitude, mood, any
troubles re digestion, sleep, overall sense of wellbeing.

Since I still do not know what kind of prescribing you do, it might be that
in the following I am "preaching to the choir" -- all stuff

This would be one of the areas where "constitutional" treatment goes beyond
"treat the disease", pathological prescribing. If one is treating only
"diabetes", then if that can't be cured, nothing can be done. But if one is
treating "the patient", who is this tremendous collection of many things,
one of which is diabetes -- then there is usually a great deal that can be
done, even if the diabetes itself cannot be cured.

E.g., could make the difference between a suffering incurable diabetic, and
a diabetic who does just great in life, so long as he watches his lifestyle
and keeps up his meds...
