Pyoderma Granulosa
Posted: Sat Mar 15, 2003 9:35 am
As briefly as possible. 58 year old female, slim friendly, Looks
Phosphorus.
Reared mostly by mother and grandmother. Father left when she was 5. This
was traumatizing but they kept in contact. Was rebellious as a teenager but
did not leave home until 21 due to partaking in teacher training.
Travelled with husband for 5 years before settling.
When 33, 2nd child born. She knew something was wrong. She felt she was
patronized by doctors reassuring her. ³Felt a subdued anger². This child
had craniostenosis and was eventually appropriately treated. Her mothering
of this child and first took all her energy and her emotions at that time
possibly suppressed. She said anger felt in intestines. She developed
irritable bowel symptoms, mainly diarrhoea.
A few years later started getting pimples.,becoming ulcers around ankles.
This took a while to diagnose. Granuloma Vasculitis. Again she felt
patronized. She was told it was an allergy to local grasses. She was given
Cortisone. While on cortisone she developed Cushing's and eventually a
cortisone producing Adrenal tumour was found and removed. Then Addison¹s
developed as the remaining Adrenal gland was suppressed with the tumour and
cortisone treatment. She currently is on maintenance dose of 10 mgs daily,
and cyclosporin an immune system suppressor because her most recent
development is Pyoderma Granulosa around her ankles. Her father had
Scleroderma and Lupus.
She loves Asian food Indian curry, vegetables fruit except pineapple. Meat
in small quantities.
Averse cheese milk. Little salt or fat. Not thirsty. ³ Would rather eat
than drink²
Better yoga , nature, husbands company. Enjoys her work as education
officer to local prison.
Liked to achieve. Top 5%. Fear of dark as a child, of shadows . Sucked
thumb.. Sensitive to noise. Dreams of packing and unpacking clothes, a baby
that can not feed, the ocean, turbulent waters, selection of cakes and which
one will she choose.
The pain of lesions eased by bathing with tepid water and elevation. Where
lesions have healed the skin is discoloured. I did not explore type of pain,
pity.
While the resentment and anger must have been extreme there was no trace of
it in her demeanour.
I have given Bacillinum 200c ,to have once weekly {the travelling
idealistic outlook on life and father¹s history }and Magn carb 12c to have
daily for a while. Maybe I should have prescribed it much higher and
alone???
I must say was very relieved to find Magn Carb under eruptions leg and ankle
when looked later. It was the missing the father, the packing and unpacking
in the dreams, dislike of milk and the simmering anger she mentioned that
induced this prescription. I think though it will be a difficult case and
others experience would be interesting, Best Wishes Jean
