I think it's also worth noting that "heavy metal detox" is probably a
reasonably frequent "accidental" result of constitutional/chronic
homeopathic care (I'm using "constitutional" in the sense of "to treat the
patient's overall state in the present"!). Often people who *need* heavy
metal detox won't *know* that is the problem, the only know they are having
this and that symptom. When those symptoms are addressed by the chronic
(what I would normally call "constitutional") remedy, detox is one of the
results.
So far as I can imagine (and I'd be interested to hear corrections on
this!), the only reason that a "heavy metal detox" case might need to be
handled differently from any other case, would be if the toxicity is severe
enough to be causing severe problems; but in that case a well-trained
homeopath will recognize that the case needs to be handled gently, which
should allow detox to proceed without too much discomfort.
(I'd guess this is a situation where organ support ("drainage") could be
useful, whether herbal, dietary or homepathic; I'm also guessing it can
certainly be done without, but perhaps less smoothly?)
Bottom line, tho, is to second Dave's advice to "see a homeopath"!
Nutritional routes are also a distinct possibility, of course, but won't
have as many of the delightful "side-benefits" as the homeopathic route!
Might also be worth noting that constitutional factors help to determine
susceptibility to picking up these toxins. Altho at some point *anyone*
will succumb to poisoning, at more moderate levels some people will pick up
the metal, whereas others will not. E.g. (couple of quick, superficial
examples) people (esp. kids) who are deficient in vitamin C will develop
lead poisoning where a more well-nourished child will not; also a person low
in iodine is more susceptible to certain types of radiation damage than is a
person whose thyroid gland is well supplied with iodine. These are two
(well accepted) instances where simple nutrition provides protection from
toxicity; and how *well* the person's system is functioning will determine
how "well nourished" they will be, on any given diet. In other words --
homeopathic "constitutional" care (okay, what's a better word? "chronic
care" doesn't seem quite descriptive...), to remove miasmatic influences and
optimize the physical/emotional functioning, will permit the body to better
defend itself, and also to throw off unwanted influences (e.g. substances)
already taken on board.
Sorry, this got long-winded... Hope it seems relevant!
