Several earlier homeopathic authors noted simillitude between varicella
and variola; some thought they were two different forms of the same
disease.
The fact that the varicella virus (like the herpes virus) may often
remain dormant, hidden in nerve root cells is a partial modern day
confirmation of Hahnemann's theory of chronic disease; application of
the theory might allow variola as a sort of anti-miasmic.. there are
elements of sycosis, but the disease & its dormancy along nerve cells
seems quite syphilitic.

Are you saying that they could be interchangeable?

Who, me? Uh, no- I said what I meant, I think.
I am sure that a morphogeneticist's case could be made for
interchangeability at the level of the pathogen & the terrain.
Other than that, I don't intuit what you might view as potential
interchangeablity.
