Tarlov cyst

Dear all, I have a woman late 50s with this condition
http://tarlovcyst.net She is direct down to earth, easy to talk to. Her
pain ,fleeting, electrical ,darting pain all down legs is worse on lying.
Pains equal both sides. Sitting erect on a chair ameliorates. She sometimes
has to sit most of night During the day she has pains in heels and soles of
feet. She says she feels she is walking like a duck She can have burning
pain in feet at night. She suffered abuse as a child from father and lived
in fear. She states she has coped with problems relevant to that. She has
had a cholecystectomy and still has discomfort R hypochondrium. She at one
time had IBS. She is pretty discouraged about her condition which she
discovered after falling and sliding downstairs some years ago. Before that
she was active in community, sewed ,made her own patterns, baked. Presently
seems happy with life but some episode of disappointment with her son. Likes
eggs meat Used to be allergic to wheat . Always says what she thinks. Does
not wish for too much sympathy.
For some reason I gave her Plumbum 200c on 1st consultation, the site of
problem spinal cord, the old fear of attack, fairly heavy in size. And
Zanthophyllin in 12c to use if desperate. After this it seemed to work for
several days, then she got an UTI ,has had them in past . She did say that
Plumbum helped her patience with husband.. She does not wish to repeat
Plumbum.

I'm afraid it wasn't progress, but coincidence. Friday night was totally
sleepless, I had breakfast at 7.30am and finally slept restlessly until
12noon. The major cause I think may have been that I was served regular
coffee instead of decaf. I kept on going back to bed and trying to sleep,
but each time until 7.30am the nerve pains started up again. It was
torture, and I'm surprised that I remain sane. The following night I was up
once, and haven't had the remedy since. Sun night was 4.30am and last night
up just once.

Hypericum 30c given result follows
I was up this morning at 6.30 after sleeping ALL NIGHT, with no nerve pains
at all. On Weds night I was up only once.
I have slightly swollen eyelids lips hands and feet as I did yesterday.
Will I take the third Hypericum tonight? Where to from now?
My visit on Weds gave me food for thought. I had only slept for several
hours and I seemed to be on a sort of "high" when I saw you. You queried my
laughter. It is laughter in the face of adversity. I've always seen myself
as Scottish dour rather than a jolly person. For some time I have been
facing a future vastly different from how I had always seen it. As I told
you I am a passionate gardener. We live on a large block and over the years
I have been building a garden suitable to the climate, the land and the
house. I'm not finished yet, and this time last year I had to stop all work
in the garden but could still work in my potting shed as long as I didn't
bend. I have always been active in the community, but that has been slowly
fading away mainly because my constant tiredness leading to lack of
concentration and inability to think clearly.
I also used to sew at quite an advanced level including making my own
patterns. This requires much stretching bending and leaning all of which
exaggerated my problems. Consequently I've hardly been in my sewing room all
year. The thought of not sewing or gardening was beyond comprehension. I
have always been a problem solver, and this was just one more problem to
solve. I spent much time working out different ways to do many things so
that I didn't have to get Alan to do or help me with everything.
In 2001 I took myself off to see a Psychologist for a while to see if I
could learn some new coping techniques . We went through my past life and
like you she felt that I had dealt with things pretty well .My visits just
fizzled out. Once I found out about the Tarlov cyst 6 months ago, things
became easier in a way as I knew what I was up against and felt that there
was help if I only knew where to find it. And then eventually I found you
after phoning the Homeopathy Soc.
I'm sorry to be so long winded but I left you on Weds feeling that there
were a few things that I needed to explain. Thank you.

I have given her Chelidonium for old liver problem and pain there and the
despondency about health. That has improved. But then she developed marked
swelling feet lower legs and hands. That resolved on Apis 3oc over 3or 4
days. Apis laughs at serious matters. Hypericum 30 seemed to be the
answer for the pains for about 4 days but not sustained. It might have
been useful after the fall downstairs.
Am trying to think of something that would cover pathology . Maybe Platinum
as it could have perineal pains. Once It helped exquisite pains there after
a prostatectomy. Platina was also prob¹ the constitutional. She has had IBS
and Thrush. Maybe Chamomilla, coffea. If you look at the web site and the
presence of the cyst it does not seem possible for it to disappear. I
presume though it has always been there and only given trouble since fall.
Maybe Hypericum in higher potency but I have a feeling I have to be very
careful not to aggravate. I may get her to see a colleague in Sydney. I some
how have never got round to LMs and they may be best for her.
I have no problems during the day as long as I'm upright, but if I lay down
I get them. All I get during the day are very painful heels and/or soles of
my feet. Someone described it as walking like a duck and I knew exactly what
was meant. Some time ago because of my feet pains I had nerve (conduction?)
tests with negative results, consistent with other people with Tarlov cysts.
I'll not take the remedy tonight if I'm up with the nerve pains. Heather.
I am sorry this is so long but maybe someone will see something . She is
almost 2 hours drive away so we use E-mail. Thank you Jean
