calendula

Dear Rochelle, don't really have time to write up full case of Calendula but
in summary, one case was of a child who had very mild eczema - took the form
of small cracks in the skin - the child was extremely sensitive to this, you
only had to lay a soft finger on him and he would be crying "don't hurt me"
again and again, and he would always be saying that his mum was hurting him
(nothing bad to read into this), everyone hurt him. I had previously given
him Nat Carb with no result and gave Calendula with amazing results.
Another case was of quite severe burns - a kettle had fallen onto her back
when she was bending down looking into a cupboard and pulled the flex and
full kettle over - the burns healed really quite well but left her spine
incredibly sensitive, she couldn't bear for it to be touched, she always
reacted with great irritation to being touched in this area and there was
ongoing chronic pain - Calendula, high potency cleared completely.
I have had a couple of other 'skin' cases which have shown this sensitivity
and Calendula has been the healing remedy but never the first prescription.
I don't think I could align Calendula with Chamomilla though. Even though
Calendula has these outbursts of irritability it is generally a very benign
state, full of intense sensitivity, whereas Chamomilla is, well,
unmistakeably Chamomilla - repelling, angry, always complaining, capricious,
obstinate, yes they are very sensitive but there is a softness to the
Calendula person which I think is absent from the demanding Chamomilla type.
And there is the rest of the symptom picture as well to take into account
which vary considerably.
Does this help?
Best wishes, Joy
