What is constitutional

I really don't know what you guys call constitutional but to me constitutional treatment is treating the patient. I know in recent times some people have tried to make constitutional treatment sound like something out of this world not easily understood, but that is not what I understand by constitutional. Constitutional treatment means finding a remedy that simply covers the mental and general symptoms of the patient, as against a medicine that simply covers the peculiar smptoms of the disease. Thus if I find Desire salt, aversion fat, aversion company, dwells on past disagreeable things, increased thirst, aggravated noise etc. I will say the patient needs nat-mur constitutionally for his headache. The headache may be right sided from sun rise to sunset etc. and look exactly like Sanguinaria headache. Sanguinaria will remove the right sided headache and the patient may later get a left sided headache (which might look like spigelia) or his headache may completely disappear and he may get constipation etc. Nat-mur will cure the whole case.
To get the constitutional picture is really not difificult if you have the time and you know what you are looking for.
Every medicine has a few symptoms that when found together form the basis of the constitutional remedy, all you have to do is know the right combination for each remedy. It is like the combination lock if you know the right combination you can open the lock.
Giving the constitutional remedy does not mean that the patient will be cured for all time to come, but it means he will remain healthy for a long time. Later he would probably need another constitutional remedy.
