Steroids is the general category and corticosteroids are those steroids
produced by the adrenal cortex. Corticosteroids are catabolic that is they
are involved in the breaking down of tissue. Anabolic steroids, those used
by body builders, etc. are tissue building. This is just a brief
explanation, of course.
