Earlier this week I faxed Sheilagh when her name was mentioned in one of the
posts and asked her to comment.

She kindly rang me today to advise that in her post war experience, Sil had
managed to bring out the 'unwanted' foreign body (and even lose bit of bone
chips etc) out of the body and that it amazed her that it came out in such a
way so as not to harm any of the body's organs. It comes out in through the
most convenient path to the body.

She said the problem of foreign bodies used as implants is something that we
encounter more and more with hip and other joint replacements being very
common. Her comment was that she had not come across any cases where the
implant had been rejected by the body after Sil. Please also note that in
these cases the surgeons do not have o suppress ** the body's immune system
at all to stop the artificial joint from being rejected - the metals and
components have been selected to appear inert to the body and also not to
corrode.

She did mention the skull metal plate.
She said that after the war the patient had presented with severe headache
symptoms. And she had treated accordingly. When the case was re-examined by
the surgeons they had found that the metal plate was not being rejected, but
being pushed out by new bone growth. The metal plate was subsequently
removed and the patient's life had not been in danger.

Many years back I remember asking Sheilagh about the application of
homoeopathy in cases where the patient has received an organ transplant
(kidney being the most common). Clever Sheilagh made me think to answer my
own question.

The answer I came up with is that in most transplant cases if they did not
suppress the immune system, the body would reject the transplanted organ.
It is only under severe suppression that the foreign protein is accepted. If
we give a homoeopathic treatment, we are strengthening the VF. Which shall
break free (or at least attempt to) the yoke of suppression.
The likely result being the rejection of the grafted organ.

Therefore the use of homoeopathy after an organ transplant was not
advisable.

Hi Soroush, I hope your most recent season of celebration brought good
offerings to you. On the subject of Sil and its propensity to 'expel', I
wonder whether a more generalised notion of expulsion might find merit. I
wonder if there may be made a substitution without loss of intention of
meaning for the word excretion for expulsion. Wherein the intention is to
describe the function of elimination as a physiological action normal for
the VF. As such all remedies will tend to expell with Sil being more
profound in its action and with a differing profile of action.

a woman with advanced breast cancer. The whole breast sloughed off, not

Thanks, Soroush, for sending us your and Sheilagh Creasey's fascinating and
informative thoughts and expeiences with Silica. I especially found the
story about the metal plate being pushed out by bone regrowth, fascinating.
It makes eminently good sense, homeopathically, in terms of a healing
process.

The issue of homeopathy in cases of organ transplants or other situations
where the immune systemhas to be constantly suppressed was also useful to
keep in the back of one's mind.
