Rosacea- rad brom case

Just to bring you up to date as I have just had the patient on the phone.
Since Nov 23rd she has been taking one a day and the rosacea has been
controlled. Last week she had a bit of a earache (OS) and some more spots
have appeared. She ran out of the Rad brom on Friday. I haven't forgotten
all the other Rx like Fluoric acid and Sol that were suggested but I am
going to try Rad Brom 100C. I didn't want to go to the 200C and Helios said
they had 100C. I will let you know how it goes. She is moaning about her
memory again - how she goes to get something and realises that she did that
before (She is 66). I had asked her to stop the Ginkgo herbal tincture that
she takes for her memory but she wants to go back on it so I said OK!!

Hi Rochelle. Allow me to suggest to you that your pt. is using an herbal
not as herbal medicine but as an allopathic remedy. The pharm analysis of
the herb asserts that it promotes blood circulation to the head; however,
this is not the manner in which it is used herbally.

Ginkgo Nut, bai guo; Sweet, Bitter, Astringent, Neutral, Slightly toxic;
enters Kidney & Lung systems; Expells phlegm, Clears Dampness in lower
burner, stabilises lower burner.

Cautions: Should not be taken long term nor in large quantities. Toxic
manifestations: headaches, febrile conditions, tremors, difficulty breathing
& SKIN DISORDERS. To be avoided if phlegm is thick and difficult to
dislodge.

Ginkgo Leaf, yin gou ye; sweet, bitter, astringent, neutral; enters Lung
system; Tx asthmatic wheezing conditions, cough, & cerebral vascular
disorders. Dosage perhaps 3 or 4 gm.

Ginkgo, pharm analysis, Tx cerebral edema, retinal lesions and edema,
stimulates choline uptake in hippocampus, improves glucose utilisation,
reduces blood viscosity. Tx cerebral vascular dysfunctional and improves
memory deficits due to affect upon peripheral arterial occlusion.

Precautions: None known. Mild complaints of GI or SKIN are rare. Will
interact with thrombotic therapy due to its platlet activating factor.

Hope this helps

Hi Isali,
I have no idea how much Gingko HT she takes. She gets it from me as I hold
stocks of herbal tinctures and mine is a 1:4 Ginkgo leaf tincture.

I intended to suggest that the herbal remedy may be causing a toxic
reaction.

I understand what you mean but she is reporting to me that her memory was
better when she was taking it and has got worse since she stopped it. I am
aware that I haven;t found her similimum. You were not around when I first
discussed her case. This woman had been taking 8 different homeopathic
remedies at strengths of between 6 and 200 for 5 years before she came to
see me. My first Px was to come off everything for 2 months and then
return. Its possible that she is "Incurable" bit I am impressed with the
progress that we have made over the last 3 years. The Rosacea is the last
thing to be dealt with and correctly is on the skin. She has had a small
flare-up of an OS since the rad brom but it didn't last long.
