Circumcision...offlist

Dear List,

I have little comments on this thread....step-by-step

Yes. Like any other surgery, circumcision has risks. They include:

Unless the "male baby is suffering from Haemophilia" there is no danger of
excessive bleeding, provided the hands performing this procedure are expert.

This has nothing to do with the circumcision, it relates more to the
sanitation of the hospital, and the instruments used.

If necessary, local anaesthesia may be utilised instead of general
anaesthesia.

Loss of glans can be foresighted, though that too, is not believeable. It
is better to contact an expert hand than hiring a layman. The danger of
losing the entire penis is too much over speculation...100% Moslims and
most of the Jews perform it, and I doubt if there has been any isolated
case of cutting the entire penis. If so, the surgeon might not knowing what
is to be removed.

Any statistic information on how many children lost their lives?

Some of the other rumors like impotence etc., are also baseless. Moslims
perform this as an important ritual, and I believe they have the highest
birth rate. Again...except the fears, there is no authentic record of such
patients who have suffered impotence due to the circumcision. Wound heals
very quickly...even if this is done at home, even then it heals within four
or five days, There has never been any tearing or bleeding from the scar,
unless the parent does not stretches the penis to see if it bleeds or not.
Once healed, as there is no bleeding from any other scar so it is the same
type of scar and not of a special type.

Even in the countries, which are much under-developed in medical care,
there is no such evidence. The ejaculations are always normal as in a
non-circumscribed male. Also the curvature of the penis has little to do
with circumcision, there are at least 1 billion people who are
circumscribed, and I have never seen such case. Erections can be painful,
provided the act is not done expertly, it can be with any surgery. Should
the caesareans be stopped. Or other vital surgeries be stopped. All such
problems are not in the circumcision or in it's after effects, it is the
genuineness of the surgeon, hygiene and the sanitation. As respected
Soroush said, this should be performed earlier and not at the age of 5
years. Then the IQ will not decrease!!

Circumcision is solely health related safety procedure, to save the child
from the future threats, and for the cleanliness. Take care.

Sincerely,
Zaidee
