Wondering what this would be called, and what rubrics might apply?
A few months ago, pt suddenly noticed that a "lump" had appeared on his
eyelid. It's a slightly irregular, blobby shape, sort of a pillow-like
something under the skin. Ashamed to say I didn't think to ask to poke it,
so can't be sure whether it's hard or soft, but it *looks* like it would be
soft, maybe water-filled?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Shannon

Re: Lumpy eyelid
You could call this a vesicle if soft
If hard but fluid filled it could still be vesicle (fluid filled sac)
Such a thing could be related to herpes.
If stony hard, it'd be cyst, tumor or ... ?

Re: Lumpy eyelid
I think what you are referring to is a chalazion. In the repertory (Kent's) you will find it under eye tumors cystic.
