Lecithin

Dear Judith, re: your enquiry about Lecithin.
In my opinion this is a really important 'modern' remedy.
You will have read already what Boericke says about this remedy (and what
the substance is - a phosphorous complex prepared from the yolk of an egg)
and I cannot comment on what Saine has to offer as I am unfamiliar with what
is said, but this remedy is all about NOURISHMENT (specifically, lack of
it).
It can be the mind, the body, certain limbs, the blood, even more literally
the alimentary system which lacks 'proper' nourishment. And in this day and
age of poor nourishment this is why I believe it to be a really important
remedy - especially for children? Maybe this is what Saine is referring to?
I have only ever used it for a baby (and the mother) who was on a sliding
scale of poor nutrition - or so it seemed at the time. Although being breast
fed the child was not advancing or putting on a great deal of weight. The
mother was also very thin, of poor health generally, previously on drugs,
and the mother just kept saying "I don't understand why he's like this, they
say breast feed but it isn't doing him any good, I would rather give him
processed baby food." Both went on to excellent health although other
remedies were involved. But at the time this remedy seemed really relevant
and it worked.
There is a general weakness, tiredness, apathy, the mental faculties are
dulled, there is a history of eating junk and a tendency to want instant
stimulation foods.
Interesting that it is linked (homeopathically) to Phosphorous and a
tubercular diathesis.
Perhaps others can offer more.
Best wishes, Joy
