Dear Dave
I always find your suggestions in the way of remedies and dosing very useful. I add them to my archive of this list and value them; keep up the good work! But I see no value in saving your negative posts or any body else's for that matter; feel free to delete this off-the-subject post of mine too.
I am sure that there are many on this list like myself whose interest lies in health rather than disease. We need no attention and would not normally clutter the list with any distractions to the flow of education on this subject of homeopathy; but I am motivated by many posts in the past, deriding herbal remedies and denying relevance to the expression of different outlooks. It reminds me of the 1950's when herbalism was considered evil with a capital D and homeopathy only catered to the rich and elite, which is why it seems to me that it still struggles for credibility.
I have no problem at all seeing the close correspondence between herbalism and homeopathy.
I have no problem at all seeing the superiority of using homeopathic remedies; too easy.
It is common knowledge that to find what any herb cures, you overdose it and it will exhibit the symptoms that it will cure; similar similus curentur. You cannot believe that a homeopath discovered that, surely. What a rip off.
If I burnt my hand, I have sufficient Irish heritage to put my hand back into the fire to cure it; similar similus curentur. If you are not Irish and of the unbroken faith; please don't try this at home.
Of course, fire is hard to come by these days and I would in fact use nettle as a remedy; similar similus curentur.
I seldom make a herbal concoction any more since homeopathic remedies are so convenient; but for my grandchildren I always suggest nettle ointment for burns as an introduction to self-healing that is on their level. I have no problem using homeopathic urtica myself regardless, since it works as a herbal remedy, why on earth would it not work as a homeopathic remedy.
Healing is healing, surely; do tell; what is the difference in healing effect, beside modality and convenience and speediness between a herb and a herbal homeopathic remedy.
If someone comes to me with a cold sore, I have no need to consult the homeopathic materia medica to see if it is listed under comfrey; comfrey ointment would cure it in a flash and I would suggest its use to a child in my family in the interests of teaching them to take control of their own health. To someone older, who has lost the plot, I would simply give them symphytum pilules; too easy.
Concerning the cold sore; herpes. Would curing this with comfrey ointment be suppression?
Would curing it with symphytum pilules be suppression?
I have heard that stress triggers an outbreak of herpes that then exhibits as the sore. Is the stress a product of the pain and or the embarrassment of a sore right in your face, generally at the worse possible moment of social vulnerability. Happiness is a quickly healed cold sore.
I believe that would constitute more than my fair two cents worth and would leave it at that
Regards Barry
