Hi I have a case of a 2 week old baby developing a cataract in one eye,
only since the last few days. have had a look for info and found some, it
likely being what is termed .

Has anyone ever seen this before, and has anyone treated this successfully.
The baby has been booked in for surgery to remove it in October, but the
parents are wanting to try Homoeopathy now. So far, the spot is only small.

I delivered a baby on Monday. (I am a HHome birthMidwife)
Newborn exam revealed what I thought was cataracts in both eyes.
The dad is blind. He had congenital cataracts as a child, had surgery
and developed glaucoma at 5
and went blind at age 9. He is a Master Musician.
The baby saw a Ped Opth doc the next day. She will have surgery in 2-4
weeks, and wear very
thick glasses at a very early age and change them frequently.
Are there any suggestions for treatment for this baby? She was 9lb 4ox
at birth, black hair,
gets agitated very easily with breast feeding, and will cry rather than
attempt to feed. She has
very strong sucking reflexes, almost seen as a need to suck continually.
Her movements seems
somewhat jerky - a beautiful baby.......
Very sad to me - the parents were very prepared for this outcome.
