Hidden Infection - Joint Pains

Dear Colleagues
Recently one of my cousins aged about 50 who lives in Iran suffered serious abdominal pains to such an extent that when immediately referred to the hospital, it was decided that she should have an operation to investigate the problem.
He abdominal cavity showed evidence of a burst cyst and contained pus necessitating irrigation and wash out and the followed by i/v antibiotics.
The surgeon was not sure where the cyst had been located!
For some 10 years she had suffered from joint pains and stiffness in the morning - she was taking a cocktail of allopathic anti inflams and Rh drugs. When I saw her in 1966 (still a student in those days) she presented a picture of Rhus-t, but although Rhus-t helped initially it did not hold and when I returned to UK she did not see another homoeopath.
Interestingly now she reports that since the operation all her joint pains / stiffness in the morning have gone - she has stopped her of anti inflams and Rh drugs and she remains PAIN FREE! Another interesting point is that she had always (for the last 10 years or so) had had a high WBC count but no one could find a reason for it!
It may be early days yet but it reminds me of another case.
This was reported by M W Mowning (May God bestow blessings on his soul) and I remember it well as I translated it to Farsi and it is part of the Patient's Guide - What is Homoeopathy?
Briefly the case is this:
Male 59 year old reports with cutting pains in the hip and boring pains in the knee. Confused, poor memory etc.
He is prescribed Calc C 30
3 weeks later, he is much better in himself but pains have transferred from right to left so he gets Lyc 3X
After another 4 weeks he reports that he cannot stand fat and foods such as pork cause him nausea so he gets Puls 30, which is repeated at the next monthly interview.
After 4 weeks he report burning urine and gets Cham 6
Another 4 weeks he has developed muscle pains and is given Arnica 12
After 4 weeks he wakes at 4 am and has cloudy vision and is given Sulph 12.
4 weeks after - pains of hip are gone, knees are worst. No remedy ( Herring's Law of Cure)
After another 2 weeks he develops a fistula and discharges bloody pus.
When questioned, the patient then reports that when he had been about 19 during military training he had had a severe fall and hurt his lower spine and the shock had been so great that he had lost his vision for a few days!
Mowning speculates that after the impact the area that opened as a fistula must have been a source of infection and that infection had started to poison his system and that this poisoning was showing itself as joint pains etc.
[This patient gets a further Sil 6 - after 6 weeks the fistula is like a small spot but still discharging small amount of yellow pus. Sulph 6 finishes the case - the fistula heals and the man walks with ease, is pain free and no longer confused!]
I wonder if any of you have come across a similar cases and situations where untreated hidden infection has caused joint pains.
Regards
Soroush
