Beverly, if you are interested in a very effective 'surface' natural treatment for the ear problem, how about the 'blue powder ear treatment'...very effective..I can post it for you if you wish. Unfortunately, it will do nothing for the intense itching.
I asked if it were seasonal as I have a 12 year old German shepherd who has suffered from intense itching, no rash, area is red, hot, scratches till she bleeds... starting at age 8(when we returned to civilization from the arctic) only from middle of August until the frost comes. She has been on minimal amounts of cortisone for it in the past. This year I tried Sulpher 200c but sadly, it did not stop the itching for her and I couldn't bear to watch her go insane like that...so back to the cortisone. Her ears however, are not affected.
My male German Shepherd, has had copious amounts of black, waxy secretion from his ears. No mites... He has been called a 'sulpher boy' & his ear problems cleared up within a week of using one dose of Sulpher200c and the Blue Ear Treatment. Just my experience.Sorry I do not know of the one true remedy for skin itching/ear discharge. Good luck for your friend. Aileen W. Donovan.
