Cat bladder problem cured

I just wanted to make mention of a cure (which I hope sticks) of a
problem my cat was having. He was unable to urinate, though he was
compelled to "assume the position" and strained and strained and was
obviously in pain and unhappy. Though I had seen no blood in the
urine -- since there was nary a drop -- I decided to try Cantharis,
knowing that it works well often in cases of urinary tract infections
in people. I dissolved three pilules of 30c in water and squirted a
dropperful into his mouth, two hits 45 minutes apart. After a few
hours, he still was no better. I consulted my vet books, but I had
none of the other recommended possible remedies. I then consulted
K.C.Bhanja's "The Prescriber". He mentions Cann-i for complete
cessation of urinary function. And since I do have that, I put a drop
in water and gave the cat a squirt in his mouth. After a bit, I put
him outside, because if the remedy did work, I didn't want him to
unload a day's worth of urine inside the house wherever. By this time
it was night, and my first sign that it might be having an effect was
that he immediately had to go chase something, and was in hunting mode
instead of straining mode. By the morning, he seemed fine, came
inside and ate some food and drank water, and went outside and I
observed him urinating. Success!
