Tongues

Had a patient in today who has got a weird tongue. There is a DEEP red
crack(furrow) down the centre and cracks along the edges. How I know that
one of my society journals had a part 1 and part 2 about tongues a year or
too back but have searched the journal and can't find it. maybe it was in
the Society Newsletter magazine. Can anyone remember or draw any possible
remedy light on this tongue??

Please don't ask for the Case as I have now seen this woman 24 times and
can't get shot of her Acne Rosacea. I've tried everything. All her other
symptoms (mental and physical) have improved but this has got steadily worse
and we both know all about things better on the skin and from inside out but
2 years is a long time to wait considering it has worsened not improved.

The essence of the case is a deep seated stress from her husband who
belittles her (yes I've done Staph) and her anger at the matron at the
nursing home where her father was before he died. She has/had a guilt that
she didn't do enough.

BTW - would anyone consider giving Arsenicum to a warm blooded person who is
untidy?

Rochelle

Perhaps read Syph. or TB as intercurrent, look into Thuja or Nit Acid as
remedies?
Its tough to prescribe by throwing out a bunch of symptoms.
Sounds like you are frustrated with the person. Sometimes a fresh look will
help get things into perspective. Perhaps send the case to another Homeopath
for review and learn from their ideas or questions.

Also, any metal in the mouth?

I would take a look at using Nitric acidum, or see if she is proving calc
carb.
Did you ask her if she had taken either one of these remedies before?

I would certainly consider giving Sulphur to a warm blooded person who is
untidy especially as Sulph is listed as "follows well" or complementary to
Ars by a number of authors. I would also consider the stress of the husband
a maintaining cause without the removal of which she may never improve
completely.

Rochelle,

There a number of such remedies. Calc-sulf has it which is especially
interesting considering the acne rosacea and the relationship issues,
feeling insecure, etc.
be well

Hi Rochelle,

Interesting question:

on 8/6/02 6:54 PM, rochelle at rochelle@ntlworld.com wrote:
The warm-blooded part I don't know about (uh, what's the rubric for that?),
but you can definitely have a messy person who needs Ars *acutely*; whether
a messy person might need it for a chronic state, I'm interested to hear
others' input on!

But I do keep recalling that I've been emphatically told, by various past
teachers, that there is *no* symptom which can, by its absence, definitively
eliminate *any* remedy. (Sorry, messy sentence; but that would definitely
suggest that it's at least theoretically possible for a person to "need
arsenicum" but be messy; but on the other hand, if the "messiness" is
strong, then it's not simply absence of fastidiousness, but an additional
symptom in itself, so...)

Please consider Arsenicum Iodatum.

Hi Alva,
I have to say I have been looking at Nitric Acid for her but again can I
give this remedy to someone who is a hot person not very chilly like Nitric
acid.
Don't go there re other remedies!!! When I first saw her she had been taking
8 various remedies in various potencies 3 times a day for 5 years which she
had found from her own research!! The first thing I did was to tell her to
lay off the lot for 2 months and come back after which I gave her a Sulphur
200!!! She may be what Vilthoulkas calls "incurable" although I hate that
word. As far as I recall she has not taken either of these remedies and Calc
she is not!!
