Just found this article written by Case Adams (dated Feb. 2020) that reports that licorice root has been used to treat MERS and SARS.

Here are two links that describe the antiviral and antimicrobial benefits of licorice root used in TCM and now used more widely in the USA and other countries. Perhaps another good supplement to have on hand especially if EO Oregano is hard to find at this time.

Licorice should not be used is Hypertension.

Good point and in the article, Adams also makes the point that the deglycyrrhizinated licorice will probably not work, which is the form commonly recommended for acid reflux, etc. Deb
