Are there non-COVID symptoms?

Hi,
Are there Non-COVID symptoms? I want to be able to differentiate between a cold and one of the more severe viruses. I know that I have seen the drippy nose as a symptom that you would not expect early in COVID-19. I think diarrhea is later if at all. The cough seem to come when? It does not seem like a differentiating symptom if you are trying to figure out if the person has a cold or a virus. I am not sure about that. What have you been reading?
