I’ve downloaded messages 1 to 108245 from this group and saved these as .html (as a ‘just in case’ backup).

The total size is 745 MB (unzipped) and 61 MB (zipped).

Fantastic Hennie but my question is will these be able to be uploaded in another program or format or platform

other than Yahoo? I am not even sure what language to use but I suspect your tech skills are much better than mine.

I just worry about compatibility between programs when making such changes.

I'm just a simple downloader .

But I trust that folks with better tech skills that mine could transfer
these downloads in some form or other to a new group.
And if not, I could upload these saved messages to, say, Dropbox etc.
for anyone to download them, for search purposes, so the messages do not
get lost.

If the *complete* transfer of Minutus to a new group works OK, there's
no worry. But I did worry, a bit .

I would enthusiastically cast my vote for Dropbox, if you can! That would be fabulous. I think that might be the best workaround for all of the recent nervousness about various platforms. My Dropbox skills are still primitive; how would people find it, and get the needed permission etc.? Does anyone see a problem with it? (Where to move the group itself, I guess that is still the kicker.)

There's no hurry. If the transfer of all Minutus messages to a new group
works OK, there is no need for the/my backup, *and* no need for Dropbox
getting involved, *and* no need for anything nervous

Nix on Dropbox. They have a very limited size unless you buy lots more space. I think our files would

be way over that limit. I also have a problem with accessing Dropbox for some reason.

A free Dropbox account can hold 2 GB.
