Good to meet another tradeswoman retired.

You responded to Shannon before I saw her post. I have only seen twisted wires

on some entry house cable as I recall. Most of my work was residential. Agree that Romex and

BX cable are single wires wrapped in some insulation, today some kind of vinyl/plastic sheathing,

and then all covered with some kind of vinyl sheathing or metal.
I really don't know what Shannon's information was about but people say all kinds of things (not referring

to Shannon but the information she was given years ago).

In this region even older homes have been grounded. Anytime I did an inspection that was checked.

The ground was to a copper water line coming into the house or to a grounding rod that is a few feet long and
sunk into the ground. If there were no ground, the owners/buyers are instructed to have an electrician do that

for safety.

As for electrical fields? Never it given any consideration by anyone--contractors, electricians or other mechanicals,

home inspectors..... it is just not considered at all. This issue is still considered pretty woo woo by most tradespeople

as well as code enforcers, at least in the areas that I have worked.
