Hpylori ulcer

I was diagnosed with hpylori ulcer last fall after a breath test. I took the antibiotics for two days and thought from reaction that taking this is going to kill me. So I opted for a regiment I found online of mastic gum(comes in a pill form) which had a reputation of being a digestive aid in the Middle East for last 2000 years if I remember correctly. It was said to kill the hpylori bug. I took twice a day for one month and then two months later I did it again doubling the dose. I also added manuka honey of 10# or higher status. I took a couple of tsps of that each day. The weird pains in my upper stomach left around the 4th day. They did not return. Another thing recommended on the sites that dealt with this way of eradication of hpylori was dgl licorice along with the mastic gum and manuka honey. As I had actually chewed mastic gum as a child I also ordered the chewing gum. Someone said the hpylori can hide in the gums and chewing the gum can help with that. I read that half the people in the world have hpylori in their gut and many don’t have any symptoms. I’m sure if one googles hpylori and mastic gum you will find blogs of many people who have succeeded with this regimen. What I don’t know is pains lower down from stomach can also be from hpylori. The pains I had were simply not something that was normal to me. The only other symptom I experienced a few days after the pains started was a feeling of being hungry all the time and that was the symptom that led my dr to have me tested for ulcer as she had prescribed an anti acid the week before which I didn’t take.
