Just a question

Post by Lucy De Pieri »

Greetings

a patient has asked me if homeopathy could help her. She has been diagnosed with an abnormally high red blood cell count.

I am wondering if there are case studies about this condition.
Thank you for any reply
Kind regards
Lucy

I treated case like this. She was having blood removed and she was 88 years old. That didn’t seem like a very good idea to me. Anyway, I gave her Pulsatilla. It was her constitutional Remedy. Several years later, she was still taking it and I asked her about the blood removal. She said oh yeah I don’t do that anymore. It seemed like she had forgotten about it. But she was in much better health. Also that clingy Pulsatilla behavior subsided. I think I found a citation for Pulsatilla in the literature also.

Thank you, Ellen, for letting me know about your experience.
This patient has received these results today, she is going to have more tests in the coming weeks.
I have only seen her twice, and she is doing very well on Arsenicum 200c.
I will wait and see what happens

Kind regards
Lucy

The first step is to find out why she has that count.

Cobaltum metallicum is another remedy that tends to have high RBC count. But as Dr. Roz reminds us, it’s imperative to explore why her count is high.

Dale

My aunt was told it was hereditary. Is that a trash can answer to the question why too many red blood cells?

Is it hematochromatisis?
I know someone with that, and his “treatment” has simply been to donate blood regularly.

I expect one could get different answers from different places, as to whether a “genetic” condition can be altered by homeopathy. But I think it’s safe to say that, while for a child that deep a change might be do-able, for an adult the more reasonable goal would be palliation. (I.e., some remedy(s) might help. but you’d expect it to be temporary, with re-dosing needed.)

But my aunt did not need anything but the same remedy because it was constitutional. She never needed to so called donate blood again. At 90 years old, who in their right mind would donate blood?
