Dear All – Greetings
Please see below. Some heavy reading. No doubt you will enjoy it ;-)

Says nothing specifically about homeopathy.
Kind regards

Subject: Charity Commission consultation outcome - charitable status and CAM therapies
Dear Sir/Madam

We are writing to you following our consultation held in 2017 regarding the use and promotion of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies and the assessment of charitable status, to which you submitted a response. The Charity Commission has published the outcome of its review into this area, which can be found online at the following address:

https://www.gov.uk/government/consultat ... -medicines

We would like to thank you for taking part in our consultation. The contributions we received were important in helping us to understand the range of views which exist regarding the Commission’s approach to assessing whether CAM organisations are charities.

As we stated in our initial report on the responses, published in December 2017, which is also available at the web address above, this consultation sparked unprecedented levels of engagement - we received around 670 written responses - and has formed an important part of a wider review of our decision-making regarding the charitable status of CAM organisations. Since the consultation closed we have reviewed and considered the responses we have received, and have continued to consider the current state of the law in this area.

As part of the outcome report, we include a document which specifically sets out how the consultation questions have been addressed in our change of approach.

Thank you for your patience as we have progressed this review, and again for taking part in our consultation.

Yours faithfully

Charity Commission for England and Wales
