[Hom-Media] Dr Fisher RIP

Post by Soroush Ebrahimi »

Dear Tanya
The British Royal family have had a homeopath since about 1850.

For sure she will have another.
Prince Charles uses homeopathy.
Queen Mum also used homeopathy!

Definitely a loss to us.

Wonder if another homeopath will step into his shoes with the Royal Family

Hope you are right. Can't wait to see who they come up with.

Peter Fisher was very important but he was a very lack luster speaker and did poorly

in debate as I experienced him online.

My only close contact with him was when some years back I attended his debate with Ben Goldacre at the Natural History Museum.

Ben Goldacre had always mocked Homeopathy.
Peter & I had both gone to the wrong gate at the same time so had to walk a distance together to the correct gate.
I introduced myself and immediately sensed that as I was not medically qualified, he looked down his nose on me!!

I warned him that Ben Goldacre was a lach and he should be careful.
Ben’s is good on statistics. What did Peter start with? Stats. Round 1 to Ben!!

His opening was also poor.
It was a good job there were a few homeopaths who could support him.
Nonetheless a very important figure and will be missed.

Ah, yes, that was the debate that I watched online. Peter's performance was lackluster

and disappointing. Goldacre knew how to present and clearly captured the event.

Very disappointing. I recall some conversations online about homepaths needing to

learn how to market themselves and the profession but it seemed people were not

really 'getting it.' But do agree the man was a very important icon and will be missed.

Lucky that you got a close up view/feel of the man
