Important announcement to all member ranks of
the Faculty of Homeopathy

The Faculty of Homeopathy has to announce with great shock and sadness the news of the death of Faculty President, Dr Peter Fisher in a road accident near the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (RLHIM), London, UK, on 15th August 2018.

Our thoughts go out to his family first of all at this dreadful time, who have lost a loved one, whilst we have lost a leader.

Dr Fisher was Director of Research at the hospital, Europe's largest centre for integrative medicine. He was also Physician to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. He was previously Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist at King's College Hospital.

He was awarded the Albert Schweitzer Gold Medal of the Polish Academy of Medicine in 2007.

It is no exaggeration to say that in Peter we have lost an irreplaceable talent, a giant in all his fields of professional endeavour – as a clinician, a researcher, an academic and a champion of medical homeopathy. The loss is huge to his family and our community.

Vice-President, Dr Gary Smyth, is to step up to the Presidency pro tem. All colleagues have the opportunity to mourn Peter's loss and celebrate his life at Faculty Congress in Liverpool 11th-14th October 2018.

There was a report of a cyclist being killed in a collision with a lorry on High Holborn yesterday morning.

There are no other reports of fatal road traffic accidents in central London yesterday.
How very sad!

Dear Colleague

These are some reports of the tragic accident. What a sad loss!

A cyclist has died after being hit by a lorry in central London on Cycle to Work Day.

"Sadly, despite extensive resuscitation efforts, the patient - a man - died at the scene."

The man was pronounced dead at the scene on High Holborn at about 09:30 BST on Wednesday.

The area remained cordoned off while police investigated. No arrests have been made.

The victim is the seventh cyclist to die in the capital this year, according to Transport for London.

Witnesses reported seeing the cyclist under the lorry with paramedics performing CPR.
