Hi All,

Can anyone tell me if there is a first aid remedy for chemical poisoning?
I was out doing some trapping of feral cats earlier today as they will be spayed/neutered and returned to their sites where they are cared for. One of the persons I was helping said she put flea treatment on one of her cats yesterday and she had licked it and was now falling over etc.
I do not have my repping tools with me. In the past I have used Arsenicum when the symptoms fit. I know that Asenicum is used for food poisoning as well as carbo-veg in a first aid situation. I've given her sub q fluids and vitamin c but wanted to add an appropriate homeopathic remedy.

Hi Sharon,

Do you know whether the cat is more sensitive than most (i.e. it’s a treatment normally done in a way that most cats will lick some of), or whether it was done inappropriately, such that the cat licked what it should not have been able to reach?

If the former (sensitive cat), you might look at the “constitutional” picture first (and see whether the acute picture seems consistent with it); but the latter, then rapping the acute symptoms first would make sense.

Possibly a “quick-and-dirty" 6x or so remedy of the “treatment” substance might be useful. (In my limited experience that is only *sometimes* useful—but sometimes it is, and it’s easy to try.)

Can you give more symptoms, including the cat’s mental/emotional changes since the poisoning?

For information purposes, not necessarily for treatment:
What does the package insert recommend in case of accidental ingestion?
What is the "poison"? Does it recommend an antidote? A purge?

Symptoms: falling over..............clarify.........forward, to the right side, left side, etc.
Any other symptoms?

Flea meds are neurotoxins affecting balance? Revolution (Selamectin) enters the bloodstream, don't think Frontline or Advantage do.

Another good remedy to consider for chemical poisoning is Okoubaka. Surprised it's not in Murphy's list. I've used it for a cat poisoned by corticosteroids, but it's also helpful for people suffering the effects of chemotherapy.

Do you use low potency for poisoning, or do you ever use this remedy high?

Sorry not to have replied sooner, Shannon. My mom died recently and I've been plunged into the morass of executorship.
The only potency of Okoubaka that I have is 200c, so that's what I used.
