I am a novice in Homeopathy. I was just introduced to the writings of a
Dr. Elminger (spelling?)
from Europe. He treats with Sequential therapy. I would appreciate
your comments about this
particular treatment with Homeopathy and an explanation.

Dear GAil,
He explains it in the book. Essentially, it is one facet of homeopathic
prescribing. Although only one it is one that is often ignored in classical
homeopathic practice. The book therefore is valuable used along with other
homeopathic texts.

Dr. Elmiger's ST is not homeopathy, it is it's "own thing" and has been
heavily "borrowed from" as the basis for Rudi Verspoor's "heilkunST."

Some key points on which ST (& it's derivative "heilkunST") differ from
homeopathy.

ST / heilkunST
Polypharmacy and large amounts of routinely prescribed remedies

Homeopathy
Single remedy, minimum dose
ST / heilkunST
focus on identifying numerous traumas "on the timeline" and treating these
by rote

Homeopathy
Taking a full case, and prescribing upon a clear pattern of dis-ease
currently depicted, with reference to causation and timeline, but without
intent to treat each individual item as if it were a separate and present
state.

I beg to differ.

Opening the Elmiger book "Rediscovering Real Medicine" at random (I swear
it !)

"Logically I should then be have continued with the isotherapeutic sequence
of the vaccinations.." (comment: bizarre and unhomeopathic) "..
particularly since the meridians all seemed perfectly balanced on the ohm
meter.." (more like electro-acupuncture than homeopathy) "..but between
1979 and 1973 there were a few suspiciously empty years which I couldn't
risk skipping.." (gotta make sure to give a Rx for every conceivable thing
that ever happened?!) "..The mother claimed that Christophe had not caught
the disease (scarlet fever) but my *PENDULUM* (emphasis added reacted
stronly to the corresponding nosode..." (nothing like getting the results
you expect from your PENDULUM) ".. I was jubilant, and ordered a high
potency Scarlatinum.." (Elmiger is "treating" the timeline [not the
person, and certainly not "homeopathically!"] and is giving it a high
potency nosode on the authority of a pendulum which "confirms" a suspected
exposure to scarlet fever) "...The child developed a fever with vomiting 2
days later, but still didn't recover (from the presenting symptoms) .."

ST and heilkunST seem to have this in common, and practitioners of both seem
to think nothing of causing such aggravations, which they blithely label as
"healing crises" .. for which there is absolutely no excuse! What can be
expected if one gives high potency nosode to someone who is not in a state
homeopathic to that nosode in potency?! If there is susceptibility, there
will likely be some proving symptoms raised! And for what?? For the vain
insistence on this theory that one may "clear the timeline" by giving
isopathics on an event-by-event basis, without the smallest shred of
homeopathic indication and without the smallest respect for the system of
homeopathy with it's built in checks and balances when practiced according
to what Hahnemann, Boenninghausen, and hundreds of others have left as a
legacy.

Has anyone seen those new secret-decoder rings that these folks use to tell
them what's next on the timeline? =;->)

Dear Dave and all,

I have serious reservations about ST and I appreciate you providing quotes from Elmiger's book because I have yet to read it. However, I was on an email list devoted to ST and I was shocked to read about it in practice.... The routine prescription of remedies, to the highest potencies, without any indication to justify the prescription.

One particular case that was discussed was of a perfectly healthy child who had had no injuries and no vaccinations, to whom was given rx up to 50M of Syph, Med., Tub., and others. This was supposed to ensure that this child would always be healthy - a noble cause but the results were terrible. The child's personality completely changed; she started wetting the bed again; she had terrible, overwhelming and unreasonable fears... In fact her teachers saw such tremendous changes that authorities were called because they were concerned that the child has suffered some form of horrific abuse. The child, after many more years of treatment (this started around age 2/3 I think and now she would be 9..?) is "better" but many of the fears and other extreme problems still exist. Strangely, the parents decided not to have their other children treated to have all of their miasms removed.

I have also been surprised by the level of "aggravation" in people who are strictly doing ST. They seem to suffer adverse symptoms for many years. I read recently of a practitioner who is 7 or 8 years into treatment (timeline) and who continues to suffer adverse reactions while faithfully promoting this practice.

I worry about the public thinking that routine prescriptions and treatment is the same as homeopathy... but like any profession I guess there are branches of practice that are different... Everyone who does homeopathy intends to do benefit and for this I cannot fault anyone, but when the results are negligible I have serious concerns.
