Till now we know that MEZ is a shrub. Its most important locations are SKIN, BONES , NERVES and MUCOUS MEMBRANE.
We also know that it is one of the most important remedies in the treatment of patients with skin symptoms. The most important symptom in skin is eruption and ulcer and the most important sensation in skin is itching and burning. We know that its skin symptoms get worse by WARMTH OF BED and during NIGHT. ( Dave has completely explained its modalities in his email )
Now let's start the second imortant location of MEZEREUM : Nerves.
It is a useful remedy in neuralgia especially of teeth and face. Pain of various kind and chilliness. It is one of the most important remedies for neuralgia after shingles ( postherpetic neuralgia ).
Sudden pains, then chilly ,sore or numb.
Head pain, into eyes, malar bones, neck , etc. with lacrimation.
One sided symptoms ( this characteristic is not only for neuralgia ).
These sentences are from FARRINGTON CLINICAL MATERIA MEDICA (P. 205):
"Three remedies are here to be compared with spigelia. the first of them is mezereum.this is useful in ciliary neuralgia. The pains radiate and shoot downward. There is a cold feeling in the eye, as though a stream of cold air were blowing on the eye. Mezereum is especially indicated when the bones are involved, a frequent sequence of MERCURY."
Please look at Mez.'s face, head and teeth in ferent materia medicas and find its neuralgic symptoms.
