What a great source! Not that any of this is surprising. I remember back in the early 1990s when medical journals had to relax their editorial standards because it was growing increasingly difficult to find independent researchers. Or witness the spate of retractions in recent years in those same journals when companies like Monsanto or Merck brought financial pressure to bear on them to pull articles they considered unfavorable to their bottom line.
The surprise, perhaps, is that it's taken others so long to figure this out.

Without reading this article (can do that later), we have had reports of this fraud more than once.

The editor of the Lancet and the one from the JAMA have made such comments. Marcia Angel? from the JAMA made this claim after 20 yrs of editing that so-called prestigious medical journal. There was also a study/report a very few years ago that some may recall where a researcher or medical person (cannot recall) took the alleged top 150 medical studies and went into the original data. He said there were no more than 10- or 12 that were reasonably done--none were that good.

Evidenced based medicine, to me at least, means evidence of highly paid drug corporation marketing spin and their ability to buy whatever results they want.

... And many editors and peer reviewers ask for removal of 'negative' data (ie data with no effect in the study) before a paper is accepted for publication. This causes under/mis information and unnecessary repetition of research, loss of time, money and also very important to me, unnecessary loss of laboratory animal life.
