Dear Zoe

Polio is not contagious! Polio is not passed on by contact!

If you look at photos of polio wards during the 50’s outbreak, you see nurses and doctor NOT practising barrier nursing.

Often only one child in the family got polio.
Polio spreads largely through faeces-contaminated water, so ignoring the poor sanitation and lack of clean water in third-world countries, along with the lack of healthy food to support their immune systems resolves the problem.
There are a lot of kids in Pakistan, Afghanistan and elsewhere are getting polio type symptoms after polio vaccination.

However, not to embarrass anyone, it is called: non-polio acute flaccid paralysis!

A recent paper published in the Indian Journal of Medical Ethics found c. 47,500 cases of so-called non-polio acute flaccid paralysis (NPAFP), a polio-like condition that is clinically indistinguishable from polio paralysis but twice as deadly, linked to the oral polio vaccine.

It’s also estimated that up to 180 Indian children develop vaccine-associated polio paralysis (VAPP) each year.
Note also no vaccine is safe!
Keep well.

This month, a tragedy occurred.

Dear Soroush,

This month, a tragedy occurred that might not have made it onto your newsfeed.

On 11 August, it was announced that two children in Nigeria have been paralysed by polio - a debilitating and deadly disease that only exists in three countries worldwide. These are two little kids whose lives have been irreversibly altered. And yet it could have been prevented.

The good news? There is something you can do to help stop this from happening again. In her first 100 days in office, Priti Patel (Secretary of State for International Development) will set her priorities for the years to come. I need your voice to ensure eradicating polio is one of them.

Click here to email Priti Patel asking her to make three life-saving decisions before 24 October - including committing UK aid to help end polio.

A proud mother with her infant, who just received a polio vaccine in Egypt.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of polio workers around the world, the disease has been 99.9% eradicated - an outstanding human success story. The Global Polio Eradication Initiative hopes to eradicate the disease entirely by 2019 but, as it stands, they don’t have all the money they need to implement this plan.

Prior to this tragic news, Africa was about to mark two years with no polio cases. Now, it’s uncertain how many thousands or millions of children could be at risk if the outbreak is not contained. Whilst this disease exists anywhere in the world, it presents an intangible and terrifying risk to so many kids.

Click here to tell Priti Patel that you would be proud to see UK aid spent on eradicating polio once and for all, saving the lives of countless children.

Thank you for all your help,

Zoe and the Global Citizen team

good letter and, correct, probably useless with these people who are bought and paid for by corporate $$$$

However, I think it is important to contact these groups who write with such self-assurance, to let them know they are not

being supported by science, health or people who know better.
