Supervision or case discussion is always a productive day and time well spent with colleagues.

Obviously cases are discussed but another rewarding aspect is the camaraderie and body of knowledge in the room being supportive and supported just by being together and knowing the task we have, as often, isolated professionals.

When I graduated there was no such thing as support or supervision from my college. Sometimes I reflect on my early days as a keen but very green practitioner and realise that my simple enthusiasm to make homoeopathy a respected medicine in my community was motivation to keep going. I was keenly aware that graduates left the profession because of isolation and lack of confidence.

At our last meeting we had an array of cases but also a healthy discussion on the incentives for the homoeopath to work with non- compliant patients. The frustration and coping strategies.

* Those who attribute any improvement to the ‘new kitten’ or ‘new school’ and so on.
* Those who question or google each prescription and challenge the decision.

We discussed the respect that is due to the practitioner, who has undertaken some considerable investment in education and is committed to an alternative path towards health.
