Dear You'all,
OK, this is wild: I first started with being obsessive about naturally matrixed (not an actual word, until now) EPA and DHA with my wife. When she didn't get it, she would become a depressed demon within a few days. If she did get it, she was angelic.
My son would be positively borderline autistic in the morning, particularly Monday mornings. I couldn't turn on the television because he was too sensitive in the morning. And Monday turned out to be important because he never took any vitamins on the weekend, so by Monday morning he was particularly deficient; and so he was very moody and hyper sensitive. When he had an anxiety attack right in front of me, for no apparent reason by his own admission, then I just knew that the problem was probably EPA & DHA deficiency. So I starting giving him cod liver oil, fish oil caps, and blending flaxseed oil into his smoothie. It worked. A completely new son, even in the mornings. He is again talking about becoming an engineer; I think that the deficiency was actually harming is IQ, something that he was complaining about.
But I never thought for a moment that I was also deficient in EPA-DHA. Naaa, not me. But every time I nagged those two into taking cod liver oil and fish oils, I would take some just so they would feel supported. Well, over the past couple of days I have noticed very significant improvements in my heart and nerve strength and disposition. On only 4.5 hours of sleep this morning, I could hike hard up a familiar hill that weeks ago would have had me bent over with chest windedness and dizziness with 6 hours of sleep. Jumpin' Jehoshaphat!!! It is like a whole new me.
The lesson here is not just DHA-EPA, it is also don't take familiar things for granted. The latest and greatest and the exotic is not always what needs to be carefully considered, just as the more expensive (or cheapest) isn't necessarily better. Our entire family was slowly eroding because of deficiency in DHA-EPA, a very common supplement that even many medical doctors embrace.
Sincerely,
Roger Bird

Re: The familiar
I am dosing a lot. I am not paying too much attention to the instructions on the bottles. We all three each get 5 Costco fish oil caps per day and 1 teaspoon of Carlson's cod liver oil. Occasionally I will give them a second teaspoon of Carlson's cod liver oil in a day, and I don't take no for an answer.
I do get some push back because I am a pushy aspergers with few social skills. I tell them that this is an asperbers version of love. They have seen the results, so the push back is much less. (:->)

Wow, nice! Are you dosing per suggestion on the bottle, or something different?
