Hello all…
Hope everything has settled down after the holiday.
Does anyone here do any tincturing with raw propolis? I want to tincture propolis with an 80% extraction formula using everclear. Can anyone help me with that?
Thanks,
Vicki

Use distiller water and mix it with ever clear to get your proper percentage.
I usually use vodka but 80% is a lot of alcohol. Ever clear is 94% alcohol.
Just out of curiosity why don't you make a trifurcation out of the propolis?

Maria: I googled trifurcation… ??????????? I guess you mean use distilled water and mix it with ever clear, which is 94% alcohol…. and the herbs. Everclear is what was used quite a bit to make remedies, right? I used to use it until GMOs came along, but stopped. I’ve been told that it doesn’t matter because once the corn is distiller/made into everclear, the properties of the GMOs no longer exist. Do you agree?
I read from some beekeeping site that we should not use water for tincturing propolis. I didn’t really understand why!! I’m waiting for a beekeeper who is also a scientist to get back to me with the protocol for 80% propolis. It should do a lot for the immune system, huh?

trifurcation
[tri″fer-ka´shun]
1. division into three branches or parts, such as blood vessels, or teeth that have three roots.
I probably need to take a class locally or online, but I can’t afford it. That’s why I have to start doing the tincturing.
Thank you.

No! Do not use distilled water. Use spring water instead. Physical tests have shown the contaminants in filtered spring water actually enhance the potency, so I think the distilled water would not work as well. Succussion in soda glass containers, not Pyrex or boron glass.

Hi John,
That is interesting about the spring water. I use the double distilled UV sterile water in my remedy bottles. Have not had a problem and do not use alcohol in those aqueous dilutions.
Am mostly, but not exclusively an LM prescriber. Granted most are mixed with drinkable tap water in the dilution glass.
Please tell me more about this study.
Maria
Note I usually use Vodka (40% or 50% alcohol plus everclear alcohol 95% ) and adjust the alcohol content by mixing them).

Trituration is the grinding down with milk sugar with the potential remedy substance. You need a mortar and pestle and pure refined sugar. The directions are in the Organon on how to do it. It is my opinion if Hahnemann had lived long enough he would have recommended trituration for all remedies as it captures the mineral content of the substance that is not water or alcohol soluble. You
Alcohol would be added after the third trituration.
I don't think you need to worry about the GMOs once made into alcohol.
Warmly, Maria

Maria,
scientist found that any water used by different human beings, become different too.
Here the individual spirit destines what the quality of water is.
Of course the quality of the origin water is important.
Still the spirit destines what happens with the water.
