The results are now at:
35 should be able to prescribe.

33 should not be able to prescribe.

32 don't know.
Every vote counts. I prefer at least 50.0001%, but a plurality is better than losing.
I wonder if they care if some of the voters are not British subjects.

For what?
A stupid question?
Is the next survey going to be whether brain surgeons should certify electrical installations in houses?
Or whether homeopaths should be allowed to do brain surgery?

Whatever happened to being QUALIFIED for the job ?

Homeopaths should prescribe homeopathic remedies.
Herbalists should prescribe herbs.
Allopaths should stick to dangerous drugs. It's what they are trained for.

You misunderstand Irene.

There are Homeopathic hospitals in UK operating under NHS.

There are doctors also who have been trained in homeopathy who work in them.
There is a move to close these units and stop doctor from prescribing homeopathic remedies.

Hear, hear. If GPs are _allowed_ to prescribe homeopathic remedies (as they are in France) next they will be _required_ to prescribe them (as they are in France)
and then the end of quality homeopathy.

If MD are allowed to use homeopathy without training, poly pharmacy will be so frequent it will be hard for us to work with patients as they will all be homeopathically overdosed. This could get really ugly.

GPs in UK practising homeopathy have had to pass the exams of the Faculty of Technology.
Before 1972 air crash of aircraft taking many homeopaths to a conference in Belgium, homeopathy was practised by doctors.

And the Queen has had a homeopath as a physician. (I understand that the UK Royal Family have used homeopathy since 1840's!)
It was after that crash that an effort was put in to train lay people as homeopaths and in 1978 the Society of Homeopaths was born.
But there have always been GPs who are trained homeopaths.
And do not forget that SADLY poly pharmacy is being practised by many modern homeopaths.

Only if they have the right qualification from the Faculty of Homeopathy that they prescribe.

"the end of quality homeopathy" is better than the end of any and all homeopathy, I would think. Con med doctors have an enormous amount of credibility, and if they do homeopathy, then this would give more credibility to homeopathy. (But I guarantee that in the eyes of skeptopaths letting con med doctors do homeopathy will not lend credibility to homeopathy or said con med doctors.) But in the eyes of the public, for the most part, I believe that it would help the credibility of homeopathy.

I do not think so Soroush.,
Regardless WHERE they areworking, only homeopaths shoudl prescribe.

SO if there is a homeopathic hospital, there should be homeopaths there, who shoud be allowed to prescribe - as properly trained homeopaths - not as doctors.

If someone wants to be a doctor and a homeopath (a clash of princuiples) and has the full training for both (not just some first aid homeopahty course thrown together somewhere) then they can presceive deugs as doctors and remedeis as homeopaths.
But the two professions do not mix.
Are they working there as homeopaths or allopaths?
We need to be sure that homeopaths fo homeopathy prescribing.
Not allopaths.
Closing the place is not sensible but they need to be suitably staffed - we do not staff electical engineering businesses with plumbers who moonlighted in how to join wires.

Nor should homeopathic hospitals be staffed with soctors moonlighting in himeopajhty.
Those hospitals need fully trained homeopaths not alopaths who dabble...
