Haemochromatosis

Dear All,
Does anyone have experience in dealing with haemochromatosis? Both my sister (57) and brother (63) have been recently diagnosed with it. It seems to be hereditary on my father's side of the family as several cousins have it also.
My sister is undergoing conventional treatment of having blood taken every couple of weeks.
