My friend Dale has been seeking a private, peaceful conversation, with Hom. users hopefully close to him in the Northeast US, about his future.

He is getting very close to a crisis, now that his mother has passed away and his father's health is in serious decline.

Without going into a lot of detail, he has long contended that Hom. care will be of far better help to him than the Medicaid-covered stuff he's had to put up with since being forced to go back to it in the 1990s.

How he even knows what Hom. is, can ultimately be traced to actions his parents took when he was a young child in the 1960s, a story he will gladly relate to whomever agrees to the conversation.

For a long time his resources have been limited, which is why he does not seek out Hom. care on his own.

Just recommending remedies to him will not be enough, as they alone will not prevent him from averting the crisis.

There should be a way for posters to find my private email, a request to which will yield contact info for Dale.

Your letter is a bit confusing.

If your friend is looking for a homeopath s/he should google the Council for Homeopathic Certification or the North American Society of Homeopath for a practitioner list. If you are sugesting he just wants someone to talk to about homeopathy so he can find himself a remedy that is not advised. After 20 years of professional practice I an rarely find a remedy for myself unless it is an injury or acute illness, and even then my judgement of self is clouded.

If he is having problems, he needs to take his own healing responsibility, you cannot do that for him. He should plan to see a professional homeopath as soon as possible. Good Luck.

Please re-read my message. This is about his whole life, not simply his health.

If he remains in his current situation, he could very well end up homeless as well as penniless.

To say that, for example, the Government will take care of him, is frankly shortsighted. The best our leaders will do is to continue the status quo, where Hom. remedies continue to be scarce in many localities, and public programs even scarcer.

And to concentrate strictly on finding him Hom. care while not changing any other aspect of his life, doesn't completely resolve his situation. He is basically seeking to surround himself, albeit at the risk of his relationships with his family and community, with people better versed in Hom.

People who are using Hom., he has theorized, have far clearer minds and can think about what can be done to help him on many levels, without setting society, or any segment thereof, on its collective ear.

But his options as of right now amount to asking often completely clueless people in the media to get him together with other users. At best those media people will only do what you just tried to do, except that they will of course recommend pharmacentric professionals.

Ostensibly the people he is able to surround himself with, will ultimately bring him together with a qualified professional, but that has to follow, among other things, his reestablishing himself in a new living situation. It would be a far, far better thing to live with those who understand and have been personally successful with Hom. than with those who only continue to ask incessant questions about it.

If it is a problem for you to be personally involved in helping find these people, I can understand; most professionals are extremely busy. However, I fail to understand how it endangers, for example, your ability to deal with your professional clients, even if they prove to be capable of being involved with him.

However you intend to classify Dale, he does mean well, and he has every right in this wonderful land called America to believe that people that can help him are out there. Don't stop people you even remotely believe can be of help from connecting with him.

That's just the point. He's /not/ looking for a homeopath.
That's because as of now, just endeavouring to diagnose his condition is impractical, if not impossible.
A lot of things would have to happen before he can realistically go see a homeopath, and most of them are beyond the scope of this group. I'm /not/ misunderstanding that.
Still, he's never found places where he can reach out to people actually, successfully using it.
Are you contending that, because they would be supposively damaging to professionals, these types of places do not and can not exist?
He contends that such successful users, as a result of exclusively using it, are relatively free of prejudices that non-users have against him, and can at least ascertain a few significant things about him that can be useful to a professional.
I wish you'd reconsider, or at least give someone else who might have ideas about it the chance to respond. There aren't very many people he can realistically approach about this, certainly not on the net.

Dear Bob, people who use homeopathy are just like everyone else. They have lives, jobs, families. Just finding 'users' who have time for discussions is pretty rare. I could send him to get his hair cut and see a homeopathic consumer ( I am sure every professional on this list has a hairdresser client) who would be delighted to discuss homeopathy while he or she does his hair. But alas we all need to earn a living too so free time is precious to all of us.

What do you really want? Someone to talk him into being a patient? A doorway he can pass through to change his life? Sorry, everyone is responsible for their own life and future. Your vision of what he should do is commendable but not realistic. His vision is the only one that counts. When he is ready to do something he will.
Nice gesture you are making but sounds a bit co-dependent to me.
