"what generates the toxins in a previously healthy person when they come into contact with someone who has measles."
This will become my mantram for today, but only for today. (:->)
But getting serious for a moment: It is my understanding that disease 'abc' can be "caught" by a person with a weak immune system, let's say. Then, in that person, it can mutate to become 'aBc'. When it does that, it is or may be more contagious and/or dangerous for the next person, and away 'aBc' spreads, from person to person. Is this the case, or is this just an hypothesis that I read about once? It seems to me to be the case, but I could be wrong.

Dear Sheri
Every single one of Elham's sentences in his post could have been answered politely, effectively and with evidence to show the extent that they are wrong.
The issue with you personally - and I raised it with you personally and not on the list - was that your comment was offensive.
What I would suggest is that you show him evidence that it was not smallpox vaccine that eradicated smallpox, ditto polio! (as I did with the news from the Indian Medical Journal) and so.
But before you do, please answer my question about what generates the toxins in a previously healthy person when they come into contact with someone who has measles.

can no one read?
Elham wrote, very clearly and succinctly.......
"In most countries a very few vaccines are actually compulsory. The cocktail of vaccines given are not usually compulsory. Vaccines do have side effects but so do diseases such as polio. If people had not been vaccinated for smallpox we would still be suffering from it. So if a vaccine is being used worldwide to eradicate a disease it is good to support it. If the suffering of one generation can bring happiness for generations to come it is good to take that risk.
best regards
Elham"

PS - and most countries have NO compulsory vaccines except the fascist US in order to attend school (unless you take advantage of the ever decreasing exemptions)
