Minutus

This poor kitty has exhausted several of its 9 lives in this episode.
He fell out of a 7 story winow and hit the concrete. Making matters more
horrific, he lay there about 2 days before its owne came home to find him there.

Amazingly there were no broken bones or punctured organs.

These are photos of the work the vet surgery did on him yesterday.
I am wondering if the wounds can be treated with Calendula lotion at this point.
Arnica was the first remedy I suggested.

Any insights or info appreciated.

Tanya, pix were not accessible. I’d say right off the bat, though, Arnica, and in a high potency, like 1M, for addressing all the bruising. One needs to be careful with the topical calendula, as it tends to close wounds quickly when they should be left open to heal from the inside. If they were just lacerations, then it should be fine and helpful. I would normally use Calendula 30c alternated with Hypericum until pain stays away and healing is well progressed, with frequency according to discomfort. If there is deep body bruising, Bellis P. may work well also.

These remedies should obviate the need for any pain meds the vet offers, and indeed one won’t be able to sense the need and timing of redoses if the drugs are used.

SUggest 1M Arnica maybe bid for trauma to everythign.

Calendula cream, or if severe powdered Calendula 200C into open wounds if any (the pics did nto come, please feel free to send to me off list)

Also use Calend 200C oral dosing, if some wounds are large as you need the internal Calend to continue till all is healed, and the body is clever enough to cover the wound against reinfection quite quickly, esp with help of Calend, so use Calend orally till the inside is healed.
(Same as I did for my leg with gangrene)

If nerves are severed/damaged, Hypericum is needed..can be topical or internal and may take a long time to heal as nerves grow so slowly.
Head trauma is usual when cats fall far, as their heads are heavy and not strongly held in place.
May be wise to consider concussion and maybe Nat sulf.

This kind of multiple trauma is appropriate for remedies for each issue, unlike chronic cases.

Yes, what a fall! Still can’t believe he survived, and lying there for 2 days like that before being discovered.
Just broke my heart when daughter called to tell me. Still shakes me up.

Thanks for input. Wasn’t sure about potencies to use or whether topical was appropriate.

Not sure of the pain meds given by vet, but will discourage their use. Daughter will be open to hearing this.
She wil have to order the Arnica 1M as I am not close by.

There are internal wounds that were sutured as I understand it.

Have photo of kitty at home with his neck cone on. Very sad looking little thing. Hopefully
he will begin to feel better quickly.

I would use whatever Arnica potency is available till 1M can be acquired, plus hypericum,
(otherwise I have the same ideas posted before.)
Frequency of dose should be in accordance with symptoms. Calnedula cream on the sutures - you can add Calendula 200C powder to it.
I would also add in Bach Impatiens for pain. Use it as a few drops in a little water, and it helps to succuss it.
Deepak Chopra's research has shown its mechanism of action to clip the top of the sinewave pain curve. It can be used with great frequency without risk of aggravation, which makes it very helpful in cases like this.

Extra taurine as an antioxidant is useful, like 500 mg a day minimum (it is not toxic even in very high dose).
Also a fish oio capsule pricked for content to add, and 100 IU of Vit E per day to help healing.
Cats make their own Vit C for healing but in a case like this will not make enough, about 250mg a day spread out 8 hourly would be a minimal amount and not liely to upset the gut.
Pumpkin 1/2 teasp a day for the carotene cats need for healing. (They need about 12 times as much as dogs need.
ALL meat babyfood with equal water (plus taurine) is an easily fed animal protein by dropper, without toxins.
Be sure there is animal fat to provide Arachidonic acid. Cats need it for repairs and do not make enough of their own.

(Never feed cats plant fat or plants in general, they ca not digest them, only use plants eg pumpkin, rice bran in tiny amounts, as food for gut bacteria to make vitamins, short chain fatty acids, and to extract carotene.)
