Just for discussion -- Renato, this brings up interesting issues regarding the differences in effect between "simillimum / similar" remedy, versus "identicum", potentizing the *same* thing that has caused the trouble.

Sometimes what's needed is exactly that -- identicum, a potentized version of the thing that caused the problem. But in other cases what's needed instead, is to identify the *full* symptom picture that the *particular patient* produces in response to the toxin, and us that instead. I've found it an interesting conceptual difference, and have also found that in practice, identicum is not always effective, and if anyone with more experience than mine has thoughts about why, I would be interested!

The instances where I had tried it unsuccessfully were each with one particular person's prescription med side-effects; perhaps it's just that in a way, that drug was the *least* of her problems in fact, even though the specific crisis reactions had been set off by the drug.

On another occasion for the same person, identicum of the offending drug worked great.

When the identical one is applied, it is called Isopathy (iso = ‘the same’). I use to thinking on Isopathy as a specific use for Homeopathy, therefore I have referred to the former by the latter. In Brazil,therapists usually use the exact Homeopathic form of a metal to chelate it out of the body.
As you have pointed out very well, each organism may react accordingly its particularities.

With the simillimum, you address the reaction of the patient to the "aggressor".
With the identicum, isotherapy, you only address the presence of the toxin, its energetic imprint if any and in doing so allow the physiology to repair the damage if possible.
You might give the identicum and not see anything happening because the patient has dealt with it fully; but you would not know that in advance, that is why I am not shy of using generously that approach if needed IMO. THe worst that can happen is wasting a few days.

I fairly sure that when the identicum works it is often because it is the simillimum at that point of time but because there are no provings, we aren't aware of it. We are always treating susceptibility on one level or another - and homeopathy does work on levels. We aim for the simillimum for the whole case but that may not be possible and so we have to treat by "layers".
