Irene, My cat

Irene you do not know it, but you saved my cat.

Calie cat got into some kind of fight - either a fox, raccoon or maybe with one of my pigs, she was pretty badly injured, I didn't see her for a day, then she crawled her way to the bottom of my back steps.

Calie is not one for a lot of strangers, most people considered her to be my phantom cat, they heard about her but had never seen her.

Long story short, I brought her in, gave her some trauma remedies, she wouldn't eat and then made herself scarce for 2 days, by the time I found her in the cellar (attached to a crawl space where I cannot get into) she had soiled herself, eyes goopy and in even worse shape. I remember your telling this group about cats going into kidney failure if they do not eat.

She had a bad tear in the back of one leg with numerous puncture wounds - wouldn't even let me touch her legs to try to ascertain the extent of her injuries, she could move her lower extremities though so at least there was nerve function. I cleaned her up, moved her to a thick folded towel in the kitchen where she has convalesced since.

She got eel serum, more trauma remedies and I had to force feed her for more than a week - used an eyedropper with egg yolk and half and half, plus some chopped fresh liver on a plastic spoon.

It is now almost a month after that injuty, she is now eating by herself, proudly showed me she could indeed walk again, that was a couple of days ago, wobbly but on her feet, and rewarded me with lots of purring and rubbing. She has lost fur in a few patches, both hind legs and under her chin to her chest, but is obviously on the mend.

Irene, it is really thanks to you that she is alive, would have lost her if I had not heeded your words, Thank you,

Maria

Wow.........you homeopathic folks are just amazing. How nice of Maria to share
her kitty story and to give credit to Irene.
Gives evidence that homeopaths are rather special people!
As an inveterate cat lover, I really appreciate all that Irene writes, though it is often above my head!
Maria, so glad the phantom Calie is well again thanks to your good care! - Georgianna

Thank you for that wonderful feedback Maria, I am so glad that my studies in cats have been helpful, and more epecially that your kitty is well again - also thanks to your care and good nursing!

It has been an interesting kitty day for me.
It has been a while that I have had only one cat.
Today I chose a new kitten (via a sweet stray little girl, a truly tiny cat, who had six of them a week ago on a friend's farm).
The kitten's name, a red tabby and wite boy, I chose this morning is Lenus..... named for the Celtic healing god, who bestows health and general good fortune:-)

Namaste,
Irene

Hi Maria

Well done - you have a great friend who is on the mend. You did mention she expressed her appreciation with purring and rubbing. I have witnessed on more than a couple of occasions that our feline friends will express their gratitude by rolling on the ground in front of you. I remember one little fellow who had a nasty bloody eye discharge that we were able to clear up. After which, he would constantly roll in front of you on the walkway from the house to the driveway to the extent that I had to be careful not to step on him. Have you or any other members witnessed this rolling type of behaviour ?

Hi, Bob
I've seen it in my mom's cat, but didn't know the cause. I just assumed it was an expression of general good will and love of life, because she'd often do it during a brushing.
She's doing it for me now, for following Irene's sage advice I've changed her diet to help her recover from a UTI. Like most kitties, she wasn't too sure about the change, but now she's loving it. I think she'll be even happier when her supply of Purrfect Dinner arrives.
Peace,
Dale
