Are you disagreeing that disease is a mistunement of the vital force
(aphorism 11)? Are you disagreeing that homoeopathic remedies are
tunement-altering potencies that act on the vital force (aphorism 16)? The
vital force is that which supplies unity within a myriad of phenomena. Are
you disagreeing just to disagree?
There are no disease or miasms outside the patient. All these
phenomena are interrelated and happening to one patient with one vital
force. One must individualize each case and study the nature of the signs
and symptoms and how they are structured. There are those diseases, times
and circumstances where one must treat a case in layers with different
remedies and there are times when one remedy suits the enter situation.
These conditions depend on the nature of causes, signs, befallments and
symptoms and one's clinical experience at recognizing such states. What
looks like to different remedies to the novice may be only one remedy to
those with more experience of the materia medica. Flexibility and
adaptability is a homoeopathic motto.

Boenninghausen made it clear that we need to study the location,
sensations, modifications and concomitants to make a complete symptoms and
take a complete case. Hahnemann also clearly explains in the Chronic
Diseases that one must pick a remedy by the regional symptoms as well as
"according to their [the patient's] different constitutions and other
aliments attendant to it". So one can not forget the constitutional
concomitants and other ailments attendant to it even when treating specific
disease cases. This involve assessing the whole organism but in the proper
manner. Jahr wrote constitutional concomitants often carry the
characteristic symptoms. You can not separate the patient and disease
because they are one in the vital force. With this in mind one studies each
individual situation and responds according to the circumstances.

one vital force does not necessarily mean one disease state only. Aph 42
shows clearly this is not so.

case in layers with different remedies.
this is true, but Aph 42 says something slightly different. The two diseases
can be present, and manifesting, simultaneously. So it would be misleading
to say "layers" in this case. Hn also says one disease can suppress or
suspend another dissimilar one. The word "layers" would be more appropriate
here.
to those with more experience of the materia >medica.
this is true, but relates to praxis, not the reasoning we are discussing.
vital force.
In considering the relation of the regional and peculiar symptoms [those
caused in the disease process] with the constitutional symptoms, traits and
dispositions, there are 2 possibilites:
1. they are the same.
2. they are different.

in the case of the former, the disease symptoms manifest modalities etc that
mimic those of the disposition; in the case of the latter, not. A person who
is temperamentally puls [ie has responded consistently to Puls over time]
may not manifest a Puls flu. So it would be a mistake to mix these two
groups of symptoms and indications together. Neither is he obliged to
manifest a Puls stomach ache. And neither is he obliged to manifest a
stomach ache that has the same energy pattern as his headache.

You can't use one part of Hn to refute Aph42. If we can't undrstand how to
fit all the pieces together, it is our issue, and not a matter of throwing
out one part of the Organon to fit our limited undrstanding. One truth does
not refute another truth.

Hello,

Aphorism 42 states that more than more than one dissimilar diseases can
be present in the human organism at one time but it say ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
about needing to treat each disease with a separate remedy. Aphorism 40 and
its footnote, however, speaks of about the presence of two or three chronic
infectious miasms in complex disease. Hahnemann writes that "diseases of
this kind" (infectious miasmatic diseases) should be treated by their most
similar anti-miasmatic remedies in the appropriate order. In this
condition, Hahnemann suggests taking the symptoms of each miasm and
treating it separately with its proper anti-miasmatic remedy. These are
specific instructions for a specific condition, i.e. infectious chronic
miasms that have formed a complex disease.

This is a statement about a specific type of disease, i.e. those caused
by infectious miasms. It does not apply to all diseases. Andrew started out
by saying that each "disease:" (nothing about specific miasms) in the human
body needs a different remedy and severally criticized those who he thinks
treat the "whole". This is taking an exact method for specific miasms out
of context (aph 40-fn 40) and trying to make it fit every and all cases.
Now he has changed his position and agreed that there are two possibilities
i.e a unified expression of concomitant states and a expression of complex
chronic miasms. That means my point has been acknowledged so I do not need
to make any further posts in this subject.

Andrew still, however, is not acknowledging that Hahnemann only spoke
of using different anti-miasmatic remedies for infectious chronic miasms
when they formed a complex disease (aphorism 40). Andrew is taking one
statement completely out of context and trying to apply to different
situations to which Hahnemann did not refer. This is mixing apples and
oranges. Andrew is giving completely different examples related to
different conditions than Hahnemann used in the Organon aphorism 40. If
this is a discussion about what is written in the Organon then stay with
what is really written in the Organon. If Andrew is offering his own ideas
would he please clearly state they are his opinions.

Sincerely, David

PS. Any further post I make on these case management issue will be directed
to the greater group.
