Proposed FDA review of Homeopathy

Post by Laurie Willberg »

Homeopath, Naturopath and MD Dr. Bruce Shelton is preparing a massive submission to the FDA to defend Homeopathy and will be attending the Washington hearing in person. Please read and share and contribute.

Maria and all,

I think we have to do this step-by-step. Right now we have the opportunity to support Dr. Shelton's presentation directly to the FDA. This is critical. I just sent a message to Dr. Shelton stating that I will ask the homeopaths and the other readers here to submit cases for his submission. I have intentionally left Laurie's message earlier today below in case you didn't read it. There is very little time to get this done. I don't know why they didn't schedule this hearing in May or June, but this is the situation we've been given, so let's work with it!

I am waiting to hear back from Dr. Shelton, but I want you to know that I am making myself available to help you present cases for his submission or I can help your clients write and submit your cases to him. The hearing is in DC on April 21st. If you want to support Dr. Shelton's presentation, I will do the administrative work once I have the format and deadline information from him. Laurie?? :-)

Once this is finished, I'm available to help write and submit cases @ the comments page that will be read by the FDA. I plan to dedicate the next 3 months of my life as much as I can to supporting this effort working from my bed with my computer on my lap! I will do as much as I can to contribute.

I just set up a new gmail account for this purpose. Send information you or your clients want to send to Dr. Shelton after I get his guidelines/format. Maybe Laurie can post them here so you know what he needs. Then if you/your clients need help, send me the information at homspecialproject@gmail.com . Ask questions here so everyone can read and respond to Dr. Shelton's requirements. Hopefully Laurie (smile) will answer them!

Once Dr. Shelton's deadline is reached I can help write and upload to the FDA comments that you/your clients want to make.

Best,
Vicki

Hi, Everyone!
Dr. Shelton is asking for case histories and personal case histories sent by email to him at shelton@drbruceshelton.com
He has a staff who is reportedly going to print and organize them in a presentation binder. If you read the post attached to Vicki's email you'll find all the details. He also states that personal identifiers will be left off to respect your (or your clients' privacy). Dr. Shelton will be attending the hearing in person.
The dates for the FDA hearing are set for April 20-21st so that doesn't leave a lot of time!

It can not be done readily for various reasons:
1. Anyone submitting a case can be accused of practicing medicine without a license.
2. Any proof of a case other than the kind on a homeopathy label for a "self limiting" issue, requires a prescription per the Federal law on homeopathy, and homeopaths may not prescribe as they may not be licensed.
3. In SOME states a ND is licensed and may use homeopathy, and in WA state, that is on humans only! In some states a MD may use it..laws vary enormously depending how successful anti-homeopathy laws have been lobbied into place in each state at 2am with a monomum quorum.
In MANY states the licensed vets are being attacked for using homeopathy eg Texas, or even for just teaching a ciient how to use it as just happened in CA.
So your chances that someone can provide a case or cases without serious backlash, are very slim, and not simple as it should be.
Homeopathy is under serious attack on MANY fronts.
It is however legal for someone to buy a remedy and and use it treat their OWN animal legally.
So that is not a homeopath's case......It needs to be a self use by owner for an animal.
eg Homeopath ttreating their own animal, and state laws specifically say that buying the animal for a cent etc is fraud and not an excuse.
(In all states it is legal to treat your own animals. I hope one can also treat oneself, but I have not looked into it in all states. In some states eg in WA but not in IN, you can treat an animal of someone who owns it, if there is no fee involved, but that varies by state.)

So providing cases "by a homeopath" is not as easy or realistic to do as it should be.
I am already in court since July 2012 for just putting research info - not even homeopathy - on my website.
It is still there. I have refused to remove it while I fight for the right to freedom of speech through the courts.
A case using homeopathy in 2003 is also there. I so far have refused to remove it also. I can adapt it for use and will let you know when I have done so. Please do not use it as is, as it may be considered under judicial order - they refused to be specific and my order is vague that I must follow.

The case is here, in 2003 version (but wait for me to revamp it to meet new legal wording requirements for 2015)
I shall let you know when that is done:

I can also write up cases I did in another country,
and some on my own cats. I need a bit of time, I have other urgent commitments. Will do what I can.
I also doubt if single cases will impress, there are no double blind studies, BUT I shall choose cases of things that allopathy cannot fix, such as the FIP one above, and others.

Namaste,
Irene
