maybe off topic regarding copper and rh negative blood

I am rh negative o blood and I read somewhere that 0 neg or all the rh
negatives are copper based rather than iron. I cannot find one scientific
based study of this...just a few references by people interested in all the
hoopla about rh negative blood. I'm wondering because when I was pregnant I
was given iron shots once a week for about 5 months. 3 months after delivery a
lot of chronic issues began for me...one of them being eczema where the iron
shot was given. Does anyone know if this is true? And if it is true...would
copper based foods be good and iron foods not so good?

I am an Rh negative (A) blood, did have some low iron problems when younger but nothing significant. Have not had any 'copper problems' that I have ever known about, but have suffered some muscle cramping since lyme disease. Cannot say I ever used copper or have needed it that I know of.

That's wrong. Blood has hemoglobin in it. Hemoglobin h iron in it, which carries oxygen throughout your body. Blood does have trace mineral of copper in it, however copper is not responsible for carrying the oxygen in the red blood cells, only iron is.
It might be a good idea to get a general physiology textbook to read so that you will have a better understanding of the human body and how it works. That way, you don't get misinformed by stuff you read on the Internet.

Actually copper is capable of oxygen transport. The Horseshoe crab has copper-based blue blood. Caveat Emptor! Carmi Hazen

Not so Carol. Only the horseshoe crab, mollusks, crustaceans and arachnids have copper based blood which is literally blue.
Humans have iron based blood, though we need copper and iron to make it and to hande oxygen.
The origin of the story you found may be that type O negs originally had very pale skin and blue veins showed through.
Only ignorance would call that copper based blood, and black people also can be O neg.
Becasue there is no need of one:-)
Namaste,
Irene

A couple of years back I read a *very* interesting article about some people being… I think it was more inclined to accumulate copper, and the physiological and psychological profiles associated with that. I wonder if that's what she was remembering -- but can't remember more about it.
