HI
I am a nutritionist and have been studying and learning Homeopathy for about 2 years…
I am looking for a school to get a cert in homeopathy right now……
today I walked into a hole on the property and rolled my right ankle. I heard a big pop.
Ankle bone is swollen, bruised very badly, hurts up the outside on my leg…..can't put any weight on it,
I am putting ice on it every 20 min, elevated on pillows.
I put arnica cream on it
I have taken 200C arnica, 2x today.
Is there anything else anyone can recommend? I was thinking Rus Tox? maybe Ruta?
I will be calling a foot doctor on monday to get an MRI or Xray but thought you might have suggestions for remedies that might help
Thank you
Pam

Does the foot flop, when you try to walk on it? Does it hurt? The former can be indicative of Achilles' tendon.
Tendons take a long time to heal due to lack of vascular in the area, however, I'm dyer there are probably some remedies that can help to speed up healing.
Good luck!

Take the case as typical. You might want to know if the bone broke or the tendon really or just pulled loose.
Knowing the exact injury will help chose a remedy and a course of treatment.
I have never had luck with ruta or rhus to for bad sprains or fasciitis injuries. However years ago Causticum helped
resolve an 2 old sprains that never has healed properly. While never finding a rx for the fasciitis, specific exercises
helped greatly. And today I would also apply low level laser.

Yes I would add both, they help ligaments and tendons.
But you may have a break also and that would need symphytum (plus Calc phos 6X tissue salts)

Did you feel relief of the pain after taking the arnica? If not, try going to 1M -- I've had a couple of particularly nasty sprains where 200c did not make a noticeable difference (I didn't try taking close-spaced repetitions, which *might* have helped more), but 1M brought almost immediate relief, and I was able to simply repeat "as needed".
I would begin with that, and then also look at the specifics of the sensations, and work through the rubrics specific to tendon and ligament injuries. (ruta, thus, silica, calc-p, calc-c, … there are a number, and it's worth taking "the whole case" around the injury -- including fullest description of sensations and other signs and symptoms that you can, plus your mental / emotional state and changes, plus thirst, appetite, hot/cold, and all the etc.; then take a wander through the indications of the (?)couple dozen remedies in those rubrics.) I'm not by my materials, or I'd post rubrics…
But -- it may be that a higher potency of Arnica could do most of what you need. That "pop", I've gotten that on a couple of injuries through the years, and it felt like I'd destroyed my ankle! But it turned out to be just some poor ligament popping across… something. Anyway, it turned out not to be as dire as what the sound and sensation made it appear. I hope that will be the same for you!

For what it is worth; many years ago while training in marshal arts one of our members ruptured his Achilles tendon at the Dojo. It sounded like a .22 calibre gun shot to me. If was a popping or snapping sound I would suspect connective tissue ie tendon, muscle movement over a a bone that juts out. This popping. although not restricted to, is often heard in older patient's joints.

Ruta relevant if tendon lifts a little of the periosteum of the bone. Not being able to bear weight might indicate need for X-ray, Jean
